Reportedly, Kayla Anne Pollock is free on a bond of $100,000 following felony charges in connection to the abuse of her 19 month old child. Allegedly, the biological father took the child to the hospital after Pollock was unable to explain noticeable injuries. Reportedly, hospital staff notified police of the suspicious injuries and the child was placed into the custody of the state. The physicians informed the investigator that the child was suffering from a fractured vertebrae, paralysis of the left leg and fractured rib. In addition, the child reportedly had hemorrhaging in the left eye, bruising to the left ear and jaw, and the left chest area was filled with blood which required the insertion of a chest tube for drainage. Doctors concluded that the injuries were not sustained accidentally, but were suggestive of child abuse and potentially life threatening. Allegedly, when authorities attempted to question Pollock regarding the injuries to her child, she informed them she had legal counsel and they placed her under arrest. Pollock was charged with causing, procuring or permitting a willful act of child abuse, which can be punishable by life in prison. Family Law News Brought To You By SpokaneFamilyLawyers.com
