Sunday July 26, 2009 is National Parents' DayUnder the simple U.S. federal statute (36 USC § 135), ALL levels of State & Federal gov't are essentially required to issue Parents' Day proclamations, plus do "an activity" in support: 1. More info and suggested Parents' Day proclamation templates are ready for download ( paao-us.com) 2. While the federal law practically suggests parades, picnics, or parties, even a simple *photo op* with the gov't Proclamation signer will be GREAT! 3. While normally you might focus on asking Proclamations from gov't officials who represent "areas" (town, city, county, district, state) ... you can certainly ALSO ask your local librarian, fire chief, coroner, sheriff, or whatever to sign a Proclamation + activities, too!! Remember, the law does NOT place any limits on how many different Parents' Day Proclamations you can have issued... get several signed while you're at it, right? They're easy enough to put in an email request and hit "send", and everything, including online lists of gov't contact info, has been provided for you.

I posted this (your post and info) on the FRAMED calendar. It will be displayed all month july on the main forum pay in the event box on the bottom of the page. I'll probably do a few stories about it on my blog also.
Thanks!
